Title I is a federally funded program. It has been in existence since 1965. Schools qualify for Title I funds through free and reduced lunch counts and are ranked according to need, and services are provided in the classroom via the Literacy Consultant, Math Consultants, or Title I Paraprofessionals.
West Utica is a school wide Title I building. Therefore, ALL students are eligible to receive Title I support services. We service children in Kindergarten – 6th grade in reading, writing, and math, as well as other content areas as needed. We use various assessments such as MSTEP, NWEA, District Benchmark Assessments, as well as classroom performance, to determine the needs of our students and distribute our Title I staffing resources.
Home/School Compact Teachers will discuss the compact at your Fall Conference.
